Shōbō-ji Temple

Shōbō-ji Temple is a historic Shingon temple with unique gardens and a connection to the Tokugawa family.
What it is
- Head temple of the Shingon sect Tōji school.
- Originated in 754 with Chii Daitoku.
- Rebuilt in 1615 and renamed Shōbō-ji.
- Became a prayer temple for the Tokugawa family.

- Known as "Stone Temple" due to large rocks.
