Kasuga Shrine

This shrine, founded in 807, hosts festivals throughout the year to pray for peace and harvest.
What it is
- Shrine founded in 807 during the Heian period.
- Enshrines four deities: Takemikazuchi, Iwai Nushi, Amatsu Koyane, Hime.
- Protected Kurokawa Noh, performed as Shinto ritual.
- Name changed several times, became Kasuga Jinja in 1868.
